The Statue: Chapter 7

Newest

Pageviews: 666 OMFG

I'm back, with some thoughts on a bunch of stuff.

Fri Aug 21, 2009, 2:05 PM
Yeah, actually, I've been back for over a week, but I thought now would be a good time to write about stuff, now that I've done everything for the summer. First off:

Survivor Alberta: Kids' Edition
Now that the reward challenge is done, the rest is coming along smoothly. Expect it up within a week.

The Statue
Has been delayed once again, as I am putting Survivor ahead of all other priorities. I am still slowly working on it, however.

And for some reviews on the theme parks.

Canada's Wonderland (the theme park)
They obviously lost some sponsorship stuff, seeing as how several rides have had their names changed (Top Gun has become Flight Deck) and their name no longer has "Paramount" in it. Which is weird, because one of the Kids' areas still has a Nickelodeon theme. Anyways, when I was there, the weather was kind of muggy (there was a five-minute torrential downpour at about 2:30), and because of that, almost no one was there. I am literally saying that, out of the seven or so Roller Coasters we went on, only three of them had lines, and one of them only had a 5 minute line (the new one: Behemoth). Seriously. We just walked on to them (not my dad: he barfed after the swinging coaster, and he said it was the first time I ride made him sick in decades). The waterpark was actually a lot more crowded than the main park (surprisingly). But it was also very fun.

Cedar Point (another one)
Damn. I thought that the Behemoth kicked ass. But Millenium Force, when it accelerates you to 93 MPH, makes everything else feel like a walk in the park. The lines were quite a bit longer (90 minutes for Millenium Force, and it felt shorter because they had a live DJ), but the rides were even more satisfying. Their waterpark, however, is a different story. The lines were too long, and the number of slides was depressing. Overall, however, I liked Cedar Point more. Oh, and I played Guitar Hero Arcade. The lag on the tv was really bad, so I fucked up Rock You Like a Hurricane.

Now for some movie and play reviews.

Pixar's "Up"
I saw this with my uncle the day before I came home. Honestly, the following video only slightly exaggerates how I feel about this movie: [link]
Basically:

OH MY GOD, THIS IS THE GREATEST MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!

The Lion King, the Brodway Musical
I had actually seen this in Toronto four years ago, but I saw it with my sister yesterday again, just to refresh myself. And I do have some criticism for it. For example, the kid who played Young Simba seemed to overact. Also, some of the additional songs (particularly The Morning Report) seemed to ruin the original scenes for me. However, it is still The Lion King, and it is still one of the greatest movies/plays I've ever seen. For those who haven't seen it, it's essentially Hamlet with Lions, fart jokes, a happy ending, and music by Elton John.

District 9
I just came back from seeing it 15 minutes ago. Boy, it was great. However, I thought that the amount of language was quite over-the-top, and this is coming from a guy who quotes the South Park movie continuously. I still enjoyed it greatly, though.

And that's all for now. See you guys later.

Hi. I'm TalkingStick, a slightly perverted, possibly insane Canadian teenager with Asperger's Syndrome. This causes me to quote random things with no citation to where it's from.

PINGAS!

Anyways, along to more crap:

Current age is 16.

Internet Memes always find a place with me (see my ID).

I'm obsessed with rythym video games.

I'm also obsessed with transformation related stuff.

And steak.

The third biggest mistake I made in my life was buying Mortal Kombat Armageddon over Resident Evil 4.

The second biggest mistake I made in my life was putting off most of my high school work, making me behind.

The biggest mistake I made in my life was getting an account at FurAffinity. DON'T DO IT! SERIOUSLY! I MAY HAVE A PERVERTED MIND, BUT ONE IN EVERY TEN IMAGES THERE MAKE ME WANT TO CLAW MY EYES OUT! (most of those involve gay sex)

Also, I love Survivor. I am currently doing a series of Survivor fanfiction, of which I am 3/4 of the way through the second season. Although the third season is already in planning, I am open to suggestions for casting for season 4 (I only have about 6 or so down for sure for that one). Please do not suggest fan characters or yourself; only people I know, celebrities I have actually heard of and fictional characters are allowed.
